The Mumbai-based salon behind Bollywood's most iconic nail art

Located in Khar West in Mumbai, Studio Nails by Anisha Mulchandani is a full-service luxury salon spanning nail, hair, lash and spa treatments. And while hair and lash have their following, it's the nail menu both new clients and long-term loyalists come in for — premium manicures and pedicures, gel extensions, acrylic overlays, BIAB (Builder In A Bottle), and nail art that ranges from minimal French tips to chrome and watercolor finishes.

For founder Anisha Mulchandani and her team, the small details are what make the experience — the salon keeps dedicated client notes on every visit, starting from your very first appointment. They'll remember the nail that tends to break more often (so they're extra careful while handling it), keep your measurements on file so you can order a press-on set straight off WhatsApp and have it waiting for you the moment you walk in, along with the ability to know right off the bat whether you're someone who wants to chat through the session or sit back and zone out (with no judgement either way!).

The interiors — by Gurugram-based interior design studio Los Espacios — carry the same logic through into the room. A dedicated consultation nook sits ahead of the nail bar, where seats curve to face the color options and a separate, regularly-updated wall rotates regularly between the most-loved shades, new arrivals and seasonal picks for some inspiration before your appointment. Tools are sterilized between every client at a separate sterilisation station — and you also have the option to go for a set that is exclusive to you — and the pedicure chair is built to feel less like a seat than a throne. If you're bringing the kids along, they'll get their own pedicure stations and a treatment to boot — soft textures, colorful soaks, gentle prep and their choice of color. The same care extends to how staff treat every client; whether they've walked in from a boardroom or a gym class, questions get answered in generous detail, and clients are encouraged to speak up the moment a service isn't going the way they want.

Naturally, the salon's nail artistry has plenty of famous takers. Alia Bhatt — a Studio Nails regular — recently wore a set for the trailer launch of Alpha (custom black French tips and an 'α' that keeps with the theme of the film), and a custom chrome nude set for the Cannes Film Festival last month that worked in cohesion with her outfits and the rest of the beauty details. Nora Fatehi opted for a theme-forward set for her performance at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Toronto this month and two individual sets of ornate designs in metallic tones for her music video with Yo Yo Honey Singh. Isha Ambani and Ananya Birla have both worn Studio Nails' work too, most recently at the Venice Biennale this year and the 2026 Met Gala respectively.
