At the Bharat Pavilion at this year's Cannes Film Festival, actress Diana Penty arrived in a gleaming gold custom knit saree by Manish Malhotra, paired with earrings by Chaulaz Heritage Jewellery and shoes by Aleví Milano, all styled by stylist Namita Alexander. For her makeup, artist Maria Asadi (@mariaasadimakeup) was inspired by "espresso coffee shades and the glamor of Monica Bellucci." The brief was precise: soft enough for daylight, but worthy of the outfit, the accessories, and of course, the occasion. Asadi started off skin prep for Penty with the Restorative Cleansing Balm from British luxury skincare and wellness brand de Mamiel that founder Annee de Mamiel created when she couldn't find products that supported her skin when she was undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment. This balm's blend of plant oils deeply cleanses the skin of impurities, SPF and makeup while supporting the barrier and leaving skin renewed with an even, healthy glow.

For the eyes, Asadi reached for Iconic London's two-in-one Smokey Eye Duo Kajal, building a softly smudged finish that deepened the look without overwhelming Penty's features.

For Penty's lips, Asadi used Kay Beauty's Hydra Créme Lipstick and Matte Action Line & Fill Lip Pencil for hydrating color that finishes in a signature French-girl blurred pout.

Asadi finished the eyes with lashes from North American beauty brand Tad Beauty, the first in the world to create lashes using 3D printed technology. The result are lashes that sit flush against the lash line, move naturally, and disappear into the eye rather than sitting on top of it.
Behind the brows was brow artist Suman Jalaf of @browsbysuman, who used her signature face mapping and brow shaping techniques to architect a custom shape that beautifully framed Penty's face and created the perfect anchor to her look.
